Amelia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Point University. She has experience working in an inpatient Crisis Stabilization Unit, as well as community and private practice settings, serving diverse populations such as youth and adults experiencing homelessness, and youth involved in the foster care system. She provides individual, family, and group counseling for children, adolescents, and adults dealing with trauma, addiction/substance abuse, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, PTSD, ADHD, complex medical issues, and anger control problems. She currently practices at the Zebulon location.
Amelia approaches therapy with compassion, empathy, and views it as a partnership. She is passionate about meeting individuals, couples, and families where they are, and walking alongside them toward healing and peace. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy from a trauma-informed framework to engage clients where they are. Amelia understands the path towards healing is not always easy. She is committed to creating an environment of warmth and safety where clients feel empowered to open up and work towards positive change.
