Kristian May, LMFT

Kristian May is a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist now serving clients at Discovery Counseling. Kristian graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelors in Psychology and then pursued her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. In her career as a therapist, Kristian has worked with clients from many backgrounds including Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Kristian provides individual therapy to children, teens, and adults, as well as family and couples therapy. Kristian specializes in the treatment of: anxiety, depression, grief, couple and family conflicts, addiction, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Kristian has been trained in Emotionally Focused therapy, a therapy designed to help couples identify and communicate their emotions more effectively, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) part 1, a therapy designed to help people heal from past traumas and experiences. Kristian enjoys meeting clients where they are in life and helping them walk the path to discover themselves. Kristian creates a safe and warm place in which clients can freely express themselves, build their self esteem, and reach their full potential.
