Healey procured her Bachelor of Music from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and her Master of Music in Classical Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. After many years of performing and teaching, she entered the corporate world when she co-founded Discovery Counseling with her husband Dr. Bruce Grant in 2016. The detailed work of learning classical vocal technique, creative problem solving on the live stage as both performer and director, and stepping into different “shoes” as needed, have all well-prepared her for the various roles as COO and CFO for Discovery. She never thought that she’d say that she loves an Excel spreadsheet, but has to admit that the “insert formula” function brings a little flutter to her heart.
In addition to the administrative side of the business, Healey very much enjoys working with a team of therapists – a group of creative types in their own right – and has a deep passion and desire to serve the hopeless and hurting in our community. As a foster mom, and having walked through many different experiences in her own life personally, she has a heart for the forgotten and underserved populations. Healey still finds creative outlets in gardening, reading, crafting, and interior design. She enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures, and spending time with her husband and six children.
