Julie has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology.  She works in both community and private practice settings providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.  She specializes in trauma, and strives to assist foster and adoptive parents and families find balance when their home looks chaotic due to out of control behaviors. 

She is certified as a foundational Theraplay practitioner, which is a child and family therapy for building and enhancing attachment, self-esteem, trust in others, and joyful engagement; and a trained TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) therapist, which is a specific technique used to assist children from “hard places.”  She performs comprehensive child and family assessments, and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an eight-phase protocol that assists individuals in reprocessing their traumatic experiences. Julie’s passion is to assist those who are in difficult places so that life enrichment and resolution can be achieved.
