Kristen Hanna, LMSW

Kristen Hanna is a Licensed Master Social Worker who obtained both her Bachelor’s of Psychology and
Master of Social Work from Troy University. During her practicum, she provided therapeutic services in
the community, respite care, and at a domestic violence shelter serving families, children, adolescents,
and adults of diverse ages.  

Since receiving her LMSW, Kristen has enjoyed working in a variety of therapeutic settings such as
substance abuse programs throughout the state of Georgia, nonprofit organizations, mental health
clinics, group homes, and foster homes. She has experience providing individual therapy, family therapy,
group therapy, and crisis services. Kristen specializes in the treatment of individuals who suffer from
anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance abuse, anger management, and suicidal ideation.

Kristen’s goal is to help her clients reduce symptomology by creating a safe environment in which they
have the opportunity to heal from past trauma, learn positive ways to cope with their emotions, and
help build lasting family relationships. She uses therapeutic techniques such as Trauma Focused
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, DBT, Socratic Questioning, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness
Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychoeducation to help her client’s meet their goals and needs
through therapy.
