Terilynn Culverhouse, LPC

Terilynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, who received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southern University – with a minor in Child and Family Development, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in Atlanta. She has been practicing since 2015, working with a wide range of clients including those struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, family conflict, self-esteem, and trauma. She works with children (ages 6 and up), adults, groups, and families.

Terilynn’s counseling style is very collaborative. She believes that her clients are the experts in their lives; she is here to help navigate the areas with which they are struggling at the moment. She works hard to build a warm relationship with her clients and work together to best meet their needs. She believes that therapy helps us navigate our ever-changing world because it allows us to shift the way we think – which in turn allows us to shift the way we feel – and then respond to situations in our lives.

Terilynn is not afraid to get creative in sessions to help that “shift” in thought happen; for example, she has been known to create songs with her clients to help process traumatic experiences for those who are passionate about music, read novels or non-fiction books with her clients who enjoy reading to help process common experiences, create pieces of art with clients to help them become more in touch with their emotions, etc. In her collaborative approach, she pulls from several modalities including CBT/REBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, and Trauma-Focused work.
